Master Sculptor & Fine Art Director

Joyce Carreira is an accomplished South African sculptor and painter specializing in figurative art and bronze sculpture project management. Following her education at the University of Pretoria and years of teaching at prestigious institutions like the National School of the Arts, Joyce established a full-time practice dedicated to the sculptural form. She brings a high level of technical expertise to the production of bronze works, managing every phase of the transformative process from structure to emotion. Having refined her craft under world-renowned mentors in Italy and Greece, her work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions nationwide, reflecting a timeless dialogue between body and soul.

With a PhD in Computer Vision and a post-doctorate in Medical Implant Design, she has spent nearly two decades pioneering 3D print design. From having her work housed in the London Science Museum’s permanent collection to being named one of the 40 Most Influential Women in 3D Printing globally, Michaella’s career is defined by world-class technical precision and award-winning creative vision.

Michaella's process combines fine art mastery with expert knowledge in digital manufacturing. The Birdman sculpture is digitally sculpted and designed with fully articulated parts, 3D‑printed in nylon in a seamless print, then hand‑finished and painted to evoke a ceramic finish.
